Russian Railways OJSC will help machines manufacturers with orders

In the course of the Russian Railways delegation’s visit to Kaluga Plant Remputmash the problems of further development of the corporate group were discussed.

The main area of work in the near future will be the production of the most updated machines.

A long-term strategy of Russian Railways OJSC track manufacturing and a five-year plan of Remputmash upgrowth, the capital investment of which will amount to 70 billion rubles, are under development.

These issues were discussed, in particular, during the business trip of the specialists of Russian Railways OJSC to the plant, together with the vice-president of the company Vladimir Vorobyov.

As it is known, the situation in Libya forced to discontinue the supply of maintenance vehicles for the construction of the railway, which belongs to GC Remputmash. As Sergey Striletsky, Director of Public Relations of GC Remputmash, reported, the contract of the company with Zarubezhstroytechnology OJSC involved the supply of approximately 12 different models of maintenance vehicles to Libya. «From the outset of the Libyan contract implementation, 36% of the total volume of equipment was dispatched and transported to the facility. 24% of manufactured machines remain in plants and approximately 20% are at unfinished manufacturing stage», remarked Sergey Striletsky.

Libyan contract was a great part in the order volume for 2011, and the discontinuity of its implementation will significantly affect both use of production capacities and financial annual output.

People at the plant hope, that new project will be launched and the situation will be remedied with the help of Russian Railways OJSC.

According to Evgeny Yakovlev, Director General of GC Remputmash, a significant rise in order for the company’s plants is in the planning stage, which will allow getting the means, needed for the reorganization of production.

Thus, in 2011 approximately 1.9 billion rubles is planned to be channeled into procurement of maintenance vehicles from Remputmash group, about 2.1 billion rubles on overall repair of vehicles and machinery of the track business along the groups’ plants.

However, as Vladimir Vorobyov mentioned, this amount is not enough. For the total capacity load the plant needs 6.5 billion rubles, and for equipment updating — up to 8 billion rubles.

«Most probably, we will purchase equipment on lease. This question in the near future will be considered by the investment committee,» Vladimir Vorobyov said.
