Russian Railways is planning to obtain Geismar and Remputmash track machines in 2010

In 2010 Russian Railways OJSC hopes to get the first track machines, co-produced by a French firm Geismar and Remputmash group (RPM is part of Russian Railways OJSC).

«They will supply us with new machinery and new samples of maintenance vehicles, which we are planning to use in the railway network,» announced Vladimir Yakunin, The President of Russian Railways, when giving a speech at Russian-French business forum in Paris on Tuesday.

As it was reported earlier by Association of Railway Equipment Manufacturers (set up by Russian Railways and largest Russian Transport Machinery companies to coordinate the work of the industry enterprises), Russian Railways OJSC was planning to start the serial production of small tools and equipment and devices for overhead line work with Geismar. The project is carried out as part of «Russian railways» program on the development of co-production with international companies.

By that time Geismar had already submitted RPM the necessary technical documentation and equipment for Metalist-Remputmash experimental plant (Sovetsk, Kaliningrad region, part of RPM).

Geismar produces equipment for the construction, reparation and maintenance of railroads and overhead system.

Remputmash group consolidates 8 plants that deal with spare parts manufacturing and maintenance vehicles reparation: Abdulino plant, Vereschagino plant, Sverdlovsk plant, Orenburg plant, Perm plant, Yaroslavl plant, Moscow plant and Metalist-Remputmash Experimental Plant (Sovetsk, Kaliningrad region), which were previously subsidiaries of Russian Railways.
