RPM Group machines got appreciation

November 18-19 in the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” in Moscow II Railway Congress was held. It was attended by over 3,000 delegates, including government representatives, professional participants of the market, the customers of the railway industry, senators, deputies of the State Duma, the scientific community, the Public Chamber, labor groups. PRM Group was represented by the Director General E.K. Yakovlev, his deputies B.P. Vasilyev, M.V. Naumchenko, O.V. Reznichenko and A.V. Perov, Head of Engineering Center S.L. Skripka, executive director of companies belonging to the group of companies D.G. Gordeyev, A.I. Dunayenko, A.Yu. Koltyshev and Yu.M. Belov.

Within two days of the forum, the participants discussed the strategic goals of the Russian railways in the context of socio-economic interests of the state and meeting the growing needs of the economy in freight and passenger transport, strategic directions of railroad efficiency increase, innovation as the basis for improving the quality of services. Because rail transport is the backbone element of the Russian economy, which forms about 2% of the national GDP.

Considerable attention was paid to the improvement of the railway infrastructure, attracting investment and strengthening public-private partnership, developing a network of speed and high-speed communication, introduction of advanced information technologies in rail transport, development of human resources.

Speaking to delegates, the President of Russian Railways OJSC V.I. Yakunin said that the period since I Railway Congress in 2007 became one of the most prominent in almost 175-year history of development and reformation of the Russian Railways. The mobilization of private capital for modernization and development of the industry was activated. In addition, the whole industry is actively involved in projects of national importance. “We are entrusted with the preparation of a large part of the infrastructure for the transport service of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi. To date, all work is being done according to the plan and the interim results achieved consistently receive appreciation of IOC leadership,” said the president of Russian Railways OJSC.

According to Vladimir Yakunin, the technology of high-speed and speed passenger services can truly be considered a symbol of modernization and innovative development of Russian rail transport.

At the last congress not only the work of the railway complex was summed up, but also clear directions of the industry development in the medium and long term were identified – modernization of the railway transport and its transition to innovative development. At the end of the congress a resolution was adopted, which sets the priorities and objectives of the long-term innovative development of the rail industry, improvement of its human resources, strengthening of partnership with industrial enterprises, development of international cooperation, improvement of the quality of passenger transportation, affordability and increase in the range of services of passenger transport.

The resolution also highlights the importance of updating, expanding and advancing development of the railway infrastructure in order to accelerate the socio-economic development of the country and the key role of the state support in the implementation of the investment projects.

Continuing the theme of technological development of the railway infrastructure, an important event of the Congress was summarizing the final part of the contest of Russian Railways OJSC for the best quality of the rolling stock and complex technical systems. The contest was held for the second time and has already become a kind of summing up for performance assessment aimed at improving the quality of the railway equipment, embodied in real projects.

In 2011, to take part in the competition for the best quality of the rolling stock and complex technical systems 52 applications from 49 companies were received. The products of RPM Group were twice awarded as the best in the category of “Quality of infrastructure elements”. So modernized ballast cleaning complex ЩОМ-1200М produced by the Kaluga Plant was awarded the first place, and a dynamic track consolidating machine ДСП-С produced by Sverdlovsk PRMZ Remputmash took the third place in the same category.
