At the International Exhibition Remputmash appears in a new form

The comments that have been accumulating in the operation resulted in technical requirements for manufacturing a new machine — ЩОМ-1200М, in the mechanical part of which practically all components have been improved to a greater or lesser extent. The ballast rake ЩОМ is upgraded, chutes are strengthened. In the new version of the machine a mechanical-hydrostatic drive of bars chain is used.

To date ЩОМ-1200М by performance is unparalleled in the world of ballast cleaning machines with one bars chain. Also, there are no analogues by the drive power of the bars chain. This is the most powerful ballast rake that exists. The weight of the chain is 5.6 tons. The drive spins it up to 4 m/s.

New technologies are applied also for the lubrication of the ballast and run-around rollers cleaning system. The machine has 12 conveyors. All of them have been changed in part of the transfer tanks. For example, the ballast stock tank was increased by 30% in order to let the machine leave the railway haul and fill a pit under it during the discharge. In this case there is no need for additional filling with gravel, reducing the time for railway haul covering.

Electronic system ЩОМ-1200М is equipped with subsystems of the smooth start of conveyor belts and their load control, load control of the bars chain.

The lift and leveling device (LLD) of the machine will have additional failure sensors that could implement new control algorithms and avoid failure of the device during a number of errors. New systems appeared: fuel consumption and intertrack space width monitoring (principally new system, built on the basis of a laser range finder, and paired with a video camera and electric drive).

Electronic systems of ПМА-1 are upgraded the same way as in ЩОМ-1200: changes are made to improve the reliability of systems, additional sensors of LLD failure are introduced, the fuel consumption accounting system is added and the sensors of availability of ties of new sample. The sensors of ties availability used earlier have low speed and did not allow the machine to use the top speed of padding. New sensors do not have this shortcoming, since they operate on a different principle, and thus have a much greater sensitivity. They will allow in the future revealing the true potential of the ПМА machine, significantly increasing its speed in operation — up to 2500 ties per hour.

The mechanical part of ПМА-1 has also undergone significant changes. The basic point is that an advanced model of the diesel engine of Cummins company is installed. The transmission is changed — hydro mechanical transmission of ГМП-500.
