The Experimental Plant for Track Machines was founded on 30th November 1958 as a production base for conducting scientific research activities at the All Union Central Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Railways, USSR.
The main task of the factory was manufacture of track equipments, starting from brassboards to lead vehicle.
Since October 2003 after the first stage of reorganization of the Railway Ministry the plant became part of the new structure OJSC “Russian Railways” with the rights of a branch, and at the resolution of Board of Directors of OJSC “RZD” dated 27.05.2005 nine joint stock companies of the group “Remputmash” were formed including the OJSC “Moscow Experimental Plant for Track Machines”.
At present the plant is a specialized enterprise for overhaul and modernization of rail welding machines in order to weld rails with enhanced strength and wear-resistance in pulsating mode. The electronic control system of rail welding machine jointly developed and manufactured by Kaluzhskiy Plant “Remputmash” allows not only optimize technological process of rail welding, but also provide pulsating mode and its documented monitoring. The control and regulation system developed allows establish and maintain pulsating weld mode, required for welding rails with enhanced strength and wear resistance. The plant also manufactures assembly units for track machines, stationery equipment – fixed brake chocks UTS-380 and wheel derailers KSB and non-standard equipment.
