Going East!

From 28 to 30 September the exhibition center of Delhi (India) PragatiMaidan held the 9th International Railway Exhibition IREE 2011, which is considered in India as an important means of attracting potential foreign partners to participate in the Government’s planned multi-billion dollar programs of development and modernization of railway transport and infrastructure. The group of companies Remputmash also took part in it. Our pavilion represented a new brand of the company, demonstrating the capabilities of our machines ЩОМ-1200М, РПБ-01, РФП, hopper-batchers and ПМА-1.

The group of companies has the experience of cooperation with India. Kalugaputmash OJSC won a tender for the supply of ВПР-02М and РПБ-01, which are already working on Indian railways.

India was also supplied with two dynamic track consolidating machines ДСП that Sverdlovsk plant produced together with the Kaluga plant. So, the cooperation began, and the best interest of Remputmash is to develop it — the length of railways in India is comparable to the Russian one, and therefore the need for the equipment for their service is also great.

Professionals are often asked the question — in what way do machines made for the Eastern market differ from the Russian ones? Significantly. Their production is not an easy task. Besides the railway gage the size of equipment is quite different, as each country sets a certain standard for its railways, and the entire infrastructure is calculated according to this standard: bridges, towers, catenary systems. In India the size is much smaller than in Russia. As a result, almost half a meter had been «cut» from ЩОМ for example. And this is quite a different layout, nearly a new machine.

By the way, the development of Eastern market is carried out by Remputmash group not only in India. A tender for supply of ballast cleaning machine to Syria was won, the contract is already signed. It will be a completely new and very promising machine — ЩОМ-700С. Not only the domestic experts will monitor its design and operation, but also foreign specialists, as it will seriously compete with a similar Austrian equipment. In summer 2012 it is planned to start its production.

We also plan to tender for the supply of the railway equipment to South Africa. The company is preparing a commercial proposal for machines ПМА-С, ЩОМ-700, Train Set of Cars for Contaminants for 1067 gage — South Africa’s size, similar to the Mozambican one.
