Russian Railways OJSC gives a green light
In the second half of April, Kaluga Plant of PRM Group welcomed a delegation of representatives of Russian Railway OJSC headed by the Vice-President Vladimir Vorobyev. During the meeting, the track engineers were presented promising developments of the Group — flattener machines ПМА-1М and ПМА-С, ballast distributor-planner РПБ-01.
Introducing ПМА-С, Kaluga engineers demonstrated to the leadership of its main customer and strategic partner the capabilities of the machine, told about its features and capabilities. As the experience of operation shows, ПМА-С by its technical and operational characteristics has a number of advantages over the similar equipment of western producers, being a viable alternative to them. And it deserves to be included in the corporate five-year order of Russian Railways OJSC.
РПБ-01 and ПМА-1М are not new machines, but have recently undergone deep modernization, touching almost all the major units. Making these changes, not only the wishes and comments of the railway workers were taken into account, but also own new developments and know-how, thereby increasing the quality and reliability of the equipment. As a result, the designers of ПМА-1М managed to achieve the fact that by a number of technical parameters the track machine of PRM Group is fully capable to replace its Austrian equivalent Duomatic.
The result of the demonstrated capacities was the decision on a possible maximum change in the five-year program of renovation and modernization of the railway equipment of Russian Railways OJSC2012-2016of the imported machines by the developments of RPM Group — machines ПМА-С and ПМА-1.
Talking about promising directions for further work of the Group, Vladimir Vorobyev approved the program of cooperation with the French company Geismar and the concept of making rail-milling trains together with Linzinger firm.
