CM-5M and other prospects of Vereschagino plant

The production of CM-5 is carried out at full speed. It goes according to schedule. The third machine is commenced. The plant is also ready to provide for the manufacture of CM-5 the spare parts to Kaluga. At the moment it is under coordination.

The designers upgraded self-propelled snow clearing machine. How does СМ-5М differ from the usual one? СМ-5М has improved performance, and it can become a good alternative to snow clearing trains СМ-2. Its advantages are: small size, which will allow arranging operative snow removal on the station necks, shunting humps, station tracks, without interfering with the movement of trains; autonomy means no need for extra locomotive; a lower cost of snow removal (no costs for maintenance and operation of the locomotive); lower specific fuel consumption. The machine will be able to move independently between the stations at a speed of 70-80 km/hwhen empty, without interfering with the schedule of the trains.

CM-5M will be equipped with all necessary systems for autonomous and safe work and travel, provided by the requirements for special rolling stock: the security system of movement CLUB-UP; radio PB-1M; network and sound alarms; fire alarms; means of climate control in cabins in accordance with the hygiene requirements; automatic fuel consumption control; automatic fire detection and extinguishing system.

The overall repair of the train for the removal of contaminants is finished. The readiness of the train was checked by the commission. A number of comments were made that would be taken into account.

The program for the production of a cabin of the «Путник» («Wanderer») is completed at the plant, in the section of new track machines МТГ-2 pedestal is commenced. The first pedestal was made and sent to Perm plant. Designers are refining it, making adjustments. All this is done in order to certify manufactured products.

Now about the future trends in the development of the plant. First, it is manufacture of self-propelled snow clearing machine CM-5. Consumers of these products will be Russian Railways OJSC and the CIS countries (Russia, the Ukraine, and Kazakhstan). Now experts are making some changes to the design of the machine. These changes will improve its specifications.

Second, repair of freight cars and snow clearing machines, as the need for it is significantly increasing both from the side of Russian Railways OJSC, and other customers (steel mills, industrial railway enterprises and others).

Third, we will increase the production volumes of the connection clip ЖБР up to 500 thousand pieces per month (currently 300 thousand are produced).
