The future belongs to this train set of cars

Yaroslavl Car Repair Plant Remputmash is preparing to launch mass production of a new model of equipment — Train Set of Cars for Contaminants СЗ-800.

By itself, a Train Set of Cars for Contaminants is not a new product. Previously manufactured Train Set of Cars СЗ-240-6, for example, has been successfully operating with ballast cleaning machines. But the appearance of higher performance ЩОМ-1200 led to the development of a train set of cars of increased capacity. And the enterprise has accomplished this by increasing the length and load capacity of open cars.

We must understand that such kind of work as ballast cleaning violates the rhythm and intensity of the traffic on the site. Therefore, the faster the cleaning is done, the fewer runs of equipment for «occupation» will be needed, the better. And this is provided by increased performance of track machines, including the carrying capacity of a Train Set of Cars for Contaminants.

Yaroslavl Car Repair Plant started the production of a Train Set of Cars for Contaminants СЗ-800 in 2009. The first prototype appeared in February 2010. Its testing was successful; some improvements in the design were made based on its results. Those who have experience in operating the train set of cars give very good reports on it.

Now the product passes certification, its mass production is about to begin — next year the company plans to produce five train sets of cars according to orders available today. And in the next five years the number will be about 60 of these machines.

Many countries have large hauls: at the same time market dictates the speed increase, and repair of tracks must be fast and high-quality. And considering that these train sets are classified as high-value products — one СЗ is more than 100 million rubles, given that in the near future Russian Railways plans to use only these train sets, given that the Yaroslavl Plant is the only Russian plant which produces СЗ-800 we can say that Yaroslavl Car Repair Plant shall not expect any problems with the prospects.

Train Set of Cars for Contaminants СЗ-800, which consists of two modules, has a load capacity from 1030 to 1200 tons, storing up to 760 cubic meters of contaminants — different kinds of small fractions of crushed stone, sand and other household waste.

Performance of the train set of cars is not less than 900 cubic meters per hour, the speed of transportation — about 80 kilometers per hour.

Each module comprises five intermediate open-top wagons and one trailer wagon. A conveyor is installed on each open-top wagon. Maximum outreach of swinging conveyor from the track axle is not less than 10 meters.

The two modules require only four people of the service staff. The intermediate open-top wagons are equipped with video cameras, and there are monitoring consoles at the operator stations. This is done so that the operator can see what is happening during loading and unloading.
